Friction Log Dimensions & Wood Varieties:

All Eden Friction Logs are of the best quality across all wood varieties by sourcing their logs from properly managed and sustainable resources. The friction logs are planed on all four sides and are evenly dried to less than 20% residual moisture in drying chambers. They're then individually checked to pass a final inspection procedure.

All Eden Friction Logs come in several sizes and varieties such as Oak, Beech, Cherry, Hickory, and Chestnut. They can be found in different quantities, starting from as few as necessary to as much as a maximum of 224 logs per pallet for 80 x 80.

Friction Kilns are a modern alternative for making smoke for numerous reasons for example commercial food smoking, BBQ smoking, and more. They use specially cut and kiln dried wooden blocks known as Friction Logs to generate the smoke.

A friction smoke generator functions by pressing a wooden log against a spinning friction wheel revolving at significant speed. Once the friction has generated heat nearly 240°C the log will start to smoulder, and the smoke is drawn into the smoking chamber.

The choice of wood used for friction burning in smoke generators depends on the desired flavour profile, variety of food being smoked, and the desired cooking time. Each sort of wood has its individual special attributes and characteristics which make it suitable for various applications, and are available in various convenient dimensions.
